Does everyone have a partner?
October 21st, 2007 | by TheSheepGeek |Almost all of you should have a partner. There are a few kinks in the process right now, since we’ve had one person drop out after the matches had been made, and one person with severe allergies we are trying to place with a pet free home to avoid knitting acrobatics (if you have a pet-free home, by the way, or can keep your knitting hair and dander free, please contact us!).
First things first - there’s been some confusion, and it’s probably my fault. The person whose name you received in your email is the person you are knitting for. Someone else has gotten your name and will be knitting for you. This means you should send an email and receive an email. Which brings me to point two.
The assignment emails went out over the weekend - the weekend of Rhinebeck to be exact. Some people are also using their work email addresses. This means some people may not receive the email until Monday. If you do not receive an email from your knitter, please do not panic! Give them until the end of the day on Monday. If you still haven’t gotten an email by then letting you know there is someone knitting for you, please drop me a note (It’s on the sidebar). I will send your knitter a reminder notice, and, hopefully, they will send you your email.
I’m giving one week for emails to partners to be sent out. This gives you time to decide if you want to be stealthy and keep your identity a secret, gives you time to read their blog and find out about who they are, and gives you time to just compose the darn email. There will be two reminders for people not sending their required emails. By Friday, anyone who has not sent their email (with one exception, since she has notified me she will be out of town), will be automatically dropped from the swap and declared a Flake. No exceptions, no excuses. The rules are very clear about this, and one week should be plenty of time.
As always, if you’ve got questions, please ask.
(Edited because I am sick and lose at English today.)
I received my email from my swap partner. And, I also sent out an email to the person I have!! I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone better… : )
I emailed my partner. Haven’t heard from the one who has my name but I’m sure I will soon. I too am looking forward to getting to know everyone better. Thank you for all of your hard work on this swap.
Me too, me too! Have sent and received - let the games begin
I haven’t heard back from the person I wrote to, perhaps she is on vacation. Also, have not heard from the person who got my name. Oh well, it is only Tuesday. I hope to hear back from the one I am knitting for…if not I will write to her again.
I e-mailed my partner and recently heard from the person who has my name. Already got my yarn from Loopy Ewe but have to wait til after Christmas to start them as I have so many Christmas projects still to go.
