Some advice?

November 27th, 2007 | by TheSheepGeek |

I know the yarn I want to get for my swap pal, and it happens to be Wollmeise. (I’m crazy, I know) Are there any specific tips or tricks that anyone has to offer as far as actually being able to buy some of this? I do get the email updates for the sneak ups, but I never seem to get them in time. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen Wollmeise up in the “for sale” section. Any ideas? I do have a second choice yarn lined up in case this falls through, but I like a challenge. :)

I have also not been able to snag any on Loopy, but–if it’s not for the swap, you can go to the Woolmeise website, http://www.rohrspatzundwollmeise.de/flash_content/rohrspatzundwollmeise.html. If you don’t speak German, you can click on “englisch” and it will translate. I have purchased some sport wt. there. It is priced in Euros and you must use PayPal, but it was relatively easy. Good luck!

But don’t forget - for this swap, the yarn is supposed to be purchased at the Loopy Ewe….

I’ve seen and been tempted by the online Wollmeise shop. Soon.

Honestly the only time I ever saw woolmeise in the shop was that sneak up this month where half the loopy emails went into the ether (mine included). I wanted to check on the natures palette stock and found out all the woolmeise laceweight was up. I didn’t buy any though.

I have some skeins of Wollmeise that I’ll probably never get to (I have a bad case of SABLE), so if I have a color that you want, I’d be glad to send it to you. It meets the requirements - they were all purchased at The Loopy Ewe. If you’re interested, e-mail me at pamtheknitter@gmail.com.
